Description

The Centre forms one of the largest facilities in Europe for conducting first class clinical research in diabetes and other long term health conditions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated individual to work within our research delivery team and assist in the delivery of high quality research at the Leicester Diabetes Centre.

Main duties of the job

  • To facilitate accurate data collection for clinical trials and input this data into relevant research databases in a timely manner, in line with local and national information governance guidelines.
  • Maintain and support the quality and control of data entered onto relevant research databases, highlighting data errors promptly and efficiently in order to maintain the quality of data entered to improve the database system.
  • Assist with the Time to Target projections for UHL hosted studies by identifying and escalating blocks with recruitment through the production of regular progress reports.
  • Provide appropriate and timely clerical support to the research delivery team and colleagues at the Leicester Diabetes Centre.

KEY RESULT AREAS
Data Quality

Assist with the acquisition and uploading of relevant trial data onto relevant research databases.

Maintain and support the quality and control of data entered onto relevant research databases.

Conduct quality assurance of data.

Assist with regularly reviewing a programme of data cleansing

Perform data cleansing.


Highlight data errors promptly and efficiently, in order to maintain the quality of data entered to improve the database system.

Assist with the maintenance of the database functionality.

Time to Target

Assist with the Time to Target projections for UHL hosted studies.

Identify to the Senior Trial Manager any research that is not performing to Time & Target.

Produce management reports on the progress of Time and Target.
Service Delivery & Development

Acquire data for the LDC department by interrogating the IT systems in order to extract and input relevant information in accordance with data protection and confidentiality policies, taking all reasonable steps to follow up missing data

Collect and select relevant information for entry and submission onto the national and local databases.

Respond to prioritised work in appropriate order to ensure work is completed within agreed targets times.

Retrieve information from the database as requested.

Ensure the collection and input of data meets the reporting deadlines required by Trust and National standards.

Having a comprehensive understanding of the systems to support daily
working within LDC including all IT systems to achieve full data capture on the system to meet departmental/operational requirements.

To provide an efficient data entry service to the department organising
own workloads and entering data to meet pre-determined deadlines.

Governance

To ensure compliance with Trust protocols for data security and
confidentiality.

To implement and maintain high standards of quality control on data
submitted for entry and data entered onto the database system in line with information governance guidance.

Communication

Ensure all research staff are aware of data management issues.

Develop regular communication with all relevant organisations and individuals emphasising the benefit of accurate data.

With external partners on all aspects relating to data held for research
governance purposes.
