Part time 25 hours
**Shift Pattern: 2 x 8 hours; 1x 9 hours

Ardgowan Hospice is currently looking to recruit a part-time Cook on a permanent contract to work within our busy Hospitality team.


Working with a small team of catering staff, you will provide nutritious meals for service users, ensuring compliance with Statutory Standards, Hospice policies and guidelines, and recognised safe practice.

This involves the preparation, cooking and presentation of food for patients, accommodating their specific dietary requirements, for example, different textured diets.

You will work closely with the clinical teams and dietician when appropriate.


The successful applicant will have a professional cookery qualification SQA level 3 to 4 or equivalent, advanced food hygiene certificates and full working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH regulations.

Experience in preparing and cooking meals from fresh ingredients in a busy environment is essential, ideally in a healthcare setting.

A flexible outlook is required in order to provide a seven-day service across the Hospice. Rotas are posted around one month in advance.

You will be a good communicator with the ability to work together well as part of a team and independently as required.
