The Opportunity
The main purpose of the Rope Access Insulator position is to install insulating materials around pipes, boilers tank vessels and ductwork.
Key duties of the role include:
- Refer to building plans and layouts to determine where insulation materials need to be fitted
- Choose the most appropriate materials and calculate the volumes required
- Prepare and clean the surfaces to be insulated
- Measure and cut insulation materials to relevant size and shape
- Measure and fabricate cladding
- Install insulation and materials, using clips, adhesives and tapes to fit them into place
- Fit cladding using screws rivet's banding bolts
- Seal all cladding joints
- Maintain and repair existing insulation
- Follow risk and method statements
- Carry out point of work risk assessments
- Report any incidents or accidents
The Person
Must have:
- Good practical skills for cutting, shaping, and fitting materials
- Good maths skills for measurements and quantities
- Ability to follow safe working practices
- Knowledge on safety and specification
- 3 years experience
Essential Qualifications:
- CRCS Red/Blue Card
- Rope access qualification
- CCNSG Card
- NVQ Level 2 in thermal insulation
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in thermal insulation
