MAT Recruitment are working with a well known Multi-Academy Trust to hire a SENCO for a school in North Liverpool.

As a SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), receive the support and guidance necessary to achieve their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and Management:


  • Oversee the provision of special educational needs support within the trust's academies.
  • Work closely with the trust's leadership team and individual academy leaders to develop and implement effective SEND strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to SEND, including EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).

Assessment and Intervention:


  • Lead the identification and assessment of students with SEND, working closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans for students with SEND.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and adjust strategies as necessary.

Professional Development:


  • Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on best practices for supporting students with SEND.
  • Stay uptodate with developments in SEND legislation and best practices in the field.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Collaborate with external agencies, including local authorities and health professionals, to ensure holistic support for students with SEND.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and support.

Data Analysis:


  • Analyze data related to the progress and attainment of students with SEND to inform decisionmaking and improvement strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) qualification or willingness to work toward obtaining it.
  • Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.

£16,858.72-£55,342.24 per year
