Are you a Dietitian with extensive experience of diabetes? Ready to hold a central role in developing and transforming services for people with diabetes living across North Wales? This Band 8a role as service lead for diabetes provides the strategic leadership for diabetes dietetics working across the health board.


North Wales covers a vast geography, and so although travel has decreased since the advent of video meetings, there will still be a need to travel across the three areas that make up Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The wider dietetic departments across North Wales employ over 100 dietitians and dietetic assistants, supported by an administration team. We support continuing professional development and encourage learning from best practice from both within and external to BCUHB.

Work closely with the Clinical Lead for Diabetes in the health board to optimise and standardise diabetes care

Gain intimate knowledge of all relevant policies, guidelines and research within Wales and beyond, using these to inform the development of practice

Represent diabetes dietetics in the health board on relevant working groups and committees at an All Wales level.

Produce and manage data relating to the dietetic care of people with diabetes in North Wales

Devise and manage relevant audits on diabetes to inform service development and redesign.

Produce, execute and revise as needed a diabetes dietetics service plan for North Wales

Bring diabetes dietitians across North Wales together to plan,evaluate and improve services

Provide supervision for the Band 7 diabetes team lead dietitians across North Wales.
