About the Role


We are currently recruiting for a Head of Faculty to join our successful team within the Regulated and Professional Qualifications Department.


As a key member of the wider Department, you will work under the guidance and support of the Group's Head of Quality, where you will manage the curriculum needs of the Professional Services Faculty.

Our Professional Services Faculty delivers qualifications and courses in areas such as Human Resources, Management, and Marketing.


Your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Support in the design, development, and implementation of quality learning programmes across the faculty
  • Coordinate with teaching staff, tutors, and assessors in your area to maintain a quality teaching provision leading to high student success rates
  • Arrange standardisation meetings, professional development sessions, and regular faculty meetings with your teaching team and the Head of Quality
  • Be involved in the recruitment process of high quality, qualified, and committed staff team members within your own faculty
  • Organise external assessment requirement, based upon the requirements of individual awarding organisations and professional bodies
  • Ensure the Learn Direct Group is updated upon all awarding organisation and professional body requirements in areas such as membership needs, delivery updates, assessment calendar
  • Manage the logístical requirements of assessment submissions, internal quality assurance, and moderation of learner portfolios, assessment papers, and examinations
  • Liaise with a range of internal professionals on a daytoday basis, including the Director of Operations, Head of Quality, Registration and Certification Team, Quality Manager, to ensure sharing of information and updates regarding the faculty and the professional bodies it works with
  • Supports in the development and maintenance of a range of Group Policies and Procedures that ensure alignment with own awarding bodies with whom you work
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the most important stakeholders of all, our students, by teaching and managing teaching and learning processes for the full learner journey:
  • Direct involvement in the teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance processes
  • Managing the Customer Service Hub in relation to your own Faculty qualifications, including delegating enquiries and queries to appropriate team members
  • Managing recorded and live information sessions, online 'dropin' sessions, and other academic support needs as required.
  • Positions in this classification may perform all or some of the responsibilities above and all positions perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

This role will be completed remotely with regular meetings using our Teams system.


Experience and Qualifications:


  • Experience in a team leader or manager role within a learning environment or training provider
  • Experience in leading a remote team
  • Qualified assessor and IQA
  • Qualified and experienced in a minimum of one of the following areas:
  • Human Resources or Learning and Development (CIPD) to a minimum of Level
  • Management (CMI or ILM to a minimum of Level 5)
  • Marketing (CIM to a minimum of Level 5)
  • Membership with at least one of the above professional bodies
  • A strong understanding of the process for external assessment bookings and arrangements
  • Excellent ICT skills with the ability to work remotely using Microsoft Software and multiple data management and LMS systems software

£40,000.00 per year
