NFS 360 Connect are seeking an experienced planner who works well as part of a team.

The purpose of the role is:

  • To maintain and develop Complaince, Operational Excellence, Quality and Innovation of the Transport provision of both General Haulage and TPN within the business
  • To effectively and continuously help manage the transport activities required under the company's Operators Licence safely and compliantly.

Primary Functions

H&S and Compliance

  • Make arrangements to ensure that vehicles are not overloaded and that all loads are strapped and secure
  • To ensure that all vehicles / trailers are provided and maintained in accordance with legislation to meet the needs of the business
  • Review workshop and maintenance efficiency, make recommendations to operations Director
  • Carry out set amount of Driver Audit Checks weekly.
  • Ensure all Driving Licence checks are completed and recorded accurately
  • Support in the process and compilation of insuarnce claims
  • Health & Safety awareness for yourself and others.
  • Ensure drivers are parking up in safe areas
  • NOT Laybys

Operations and Technology

  • Ensure an effective and efficient fleet management programme service is provided that meets the needs of the business in accordance with best practice, using exisiting computer and paper systems and contribute to the development of new systems as required
  • Develop procedures and audit trails in order to comply with operators licence obligations
  • Manage drivers times and ensure correct routes are taken. Monitor using Samsara system.
  • Maintain and manage accurate administrative records including the TOPS system and traffic boards.
  • Implement TOPS on the go
  • Run Samsara, produce reports, identify trends and process tachograph infringements for all drivers and complete monthly report for Operations Director
  • To support the development and implementation of procedures and IT systems to assist the progress and development of the department and to help reach our strategic goals

General

  • Provide proactive support to other departments when needed.
  • Manage / develop all Sub Contracting and Pass Through work.
  • Give drivers a full debriefing, identifying operational issues, potential problems and opportunuties, tachograph analysis/driver infringements and taking disciplinary measures when required.
  • Assist in meeting budget expectations.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed in full, including POD's, trailer wash checks, vehicle cab inspections, driver PPE checks and driver assessments.
