An exciting opportunity to work in mental health services. We are looking for an empathetic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for working in acute female inpatient services. This vital role involves interacting with the patients on a daily basis and helping them meet their daily needs.
A key part of the excellent care that we strive to provide for our patients is down to the role of Visible Security Administrators who provide customer service in the ward reception area and act as a professional contact to visitors to the unit.
The role entails providing physical and procedural security for the ward to maintain safety for patients, staff and visitors to the ward.
This job entails supporting the nursing team in managing ingress and egress onto the ward, as well as managing and monitoring restricted items.
What we are looking for:
We are therefore looking to welcome committed and hardworking Visible Security Administrators to join our new wards.
The role will include a variety of security and administrative duties on our new inpatient wards including maintenance of key and safety alarm inventories, controlling all access to the unit, escorting visitors and monitoring for prohibited and restricted items entering the building.
Previous experience of working with people with mental health problems within a secure environment is desirable.Our services run over 7 days a week and therefore shifts are worked across days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Issuing of keys and maintenance of key inventoryIssuing of staff safety alarms
Control of all access to the unit via security station
To escort professional visitors, contractors and maintenance personnel to their required destination within the secure part of the unit.
To record all patient leave in all required logs both electronic and paper copy.
To monitor all patients sharps and ensure that all these items are accounted for.
To check ID of visitors of both professional and informal to the unit
Co-ordination, charging, issuing and operation of unit telecommunications - unit mobile
phones/ 2 way radios
To respond to fire, front door or staff attack alarms in accordance with unit policy
To complete all security checks in accordance with standard operational policy and security protocol
To keep the fire-board up to date with all staff and visitors within the unit
To aid shift co-ordinator in verifying that patient has been granted section 17 leave prior to the patient leaving the unit
To monitor for prohibited and restricted items entering the building through the reception area and communicating concerns to shift co-ordinator if they arise.
To set up patient profiles on the CoWin Play system and upload relevant documentation.
To liaise with reconnect helpdesk for all trouble shooting issues related to the system
To complete patient discharges on the system
