Description

The Anaesthetic Department benefits from the supportive cohesiveness of a district general department, with specialist services and a wide case mix with a diverse population across two sites; University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.


Both sites benefit from weekly morning (breakfast) and monthly half day governance meetings that ensure ample opportunities for CPD and teambuilding.


This is an exciting opportunity for a conscientious and diligent Anaesthetist who has a caring attitude to patients to join our dynamic team of enthusiastic Anaesthetists to provide elective and emergency care to our maternity, paediatric and adult patients.

The post requires a wide range of broad experience in Anaesthetics.


The post attracts 10 programmed activities (PAs) based on the 2003 Consultant contract and is offered as a split of 8 direct clinical care (DCC) and 1 supporting professional activity (SPA).

The post holder will contribute to the non-resident Consultant on-call tier for University Hospital Lewisham.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was established on 1 Oct 2013.

The trust is responsible for University Hospital Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, a range of community health services and services at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

The post will require cross site working depending on the needs of the department and includes weekend trauma on an annualised basis.

It is a replacement post to cover a career break for a period of 6 months.
