JOB PURPOSE

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Management of the Senior Admissions Assistant Team

  • To work with the Admissions Coordinator on the creation and delivery of training materials to ensure regulatory compliance and promote best practice
  • To quality assure the work undertaken by the Senior Admissions Assistant Team
  • To undertake Line Management Responsibilities, including recruitment, training, disciplinary processes and development support.
  • To ensure the provision of timely and accurate data on admissions processing

2. Applications Systems Assurance

  • To lead on the resolution of systems or records errors within the electronic admissions system
  • To ensure that background data within the system is kept up to date

3. Upholding Compliance

  • To understand and work within a range of external frameworks and regulations including Consumer Protection Law, the General Data Protection Regulation, UK Immigration Rules, the UCAS admissions system, and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) expectations
  • To promote and ensure the culture of compliance within the team, producing updates and training where necessary
  • To take responsibility for certain compliance processes such as, but not limited to, DBS checks where appropriate

4. Resolution of Complex Admissions Related Cases

  • To trouble shoot complex cases, including fees queries and UK and international qualification equivalence assessments, which cannot be satisfactorily resolved by the Senior Admissions Assistant team

5. Other duties

  • Supporting wider University objectives and initiatives by undertaking offer ad hoc assistant to events such as graduation ceremonies and open days
  • Such other duties as may be requested by the Admissions Service Manager or Admissions Coordinator from time to time commensurate with the grading of the role
