Description

We wish to recruit an individual to provide high-level, proactive, comprehensive and efficient PA and administrative support for the Global Psoriasis Atlas Programme Manager and members of the GPA team, in the division of Musculoskeletal and Dermatological Sciences in the School of Biological Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide administrative support for a high-profile international project on the skin disease - psoriasis.

The Global Psoriasis Atlas (GPA) has created the first-ever, comprehensive global database on psoriasis. Detailing the disease prevalence and incidence worldwide will enable extensive global comparisons between countries and across time.

The post holder will be a key administrative point of contact within the division and will provide a high-quality administrative service to a group of academic staff project staff, working closely with the Programme Manager for the Global Psoriasis Atlas.

This University of Manchester role will be hybrid (a blend of in-office and remote working) and will have an office base in the Bright Building.

This dynamic and demanding role will involve considerable flexibility and the ability to prioritise tasks to deliver administrative support for the academic community within the division and wider community.

The post holder's role will be to ensure effective and professional liaison and communication with academic, administrative and external stakeholders on the project at all levels, to facilitate the smooth running of day-to-day activities.

With excellent attention to detail and always ensuring confidentiality, you will organise meetings, events, Skype and teleconferencing, book travel and refreshments as required, ensuring all the necessary arrangements and paperwork are in place.

The post holder will be assigned to a Division within the School but will be employed by the School and as such may be required to support other areas, from time to time, across the School.

There will be a considerable need to respond to the growth and development of this project in the foreseeable future and the post holder will actively work to support the project team in achieving the objectives of the GPA.

This post is 0.8 FTE and working days/hours of the post are negotiable.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.

All appointments are made on merit.

Our University is positive about flexible working - you can find out more here
