BDS are currently recruiting for a Lettings Officer based in the Westminster area, SE1.


As an Allocations & Lettings specialist you will play an important role in managing empty homes, and minimizing the amount of time they are empty between lets, to reduce rent loss from voids, and maximize income for the business.

You will work as part of a busy Allocations team, at the heart of a large Customer Services team and work closely with Void teams and Neighborhood Customer Specialists to ensure an empty home is re-let as quickly as possible and reduce our number of empty homes


Key Duties include but are not limited too;

  • Managing all lettings and transfers for Peabody, including new builds, by working collaboratively with customers and colleagues.
  • Managing the allocations of our homes in cases of priority/management transfers ensuring cases are managed sensitively, in line with policy, and in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing temporary rehousing need ensuring customer impact is minimized and delivering great communication, ensuring financial efficiency, strong interdepartmental working, creative and solutionfocused methods, and robust contract management/oversight of our service providers.
  • Support the Neighborhood & Customer Specialist teams in complete tenancy changes (for example successions, assignments, discretionary tenancies, and mutual exchanges) ensuring best use of our homes.
  • To provide excellent front line customer service by working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our customers' needs are met and the departmental/team objectives are achieved.
  • Customer focused and be able to carry out functions in a sensitive, compliant, responsible and transparent way.
  • Able to work on your own initiative and deliver a complex service, with support and guidance from the Allocations & Lettings Manager.
  • Detail focused, with the ability to ensure strict compliance with general and scheme specific nomination agreements (and local lettings plans).
  • Highly organized with solutionfocused problemsolving skills.

Pay Rate; £16.56ph PAYE- £20.43ph UMB
