Billy is one of the many people we support:
Billy is a young adult who lives in his own flat.

Billy enjoys arts and crafts, building Lego, going out on day trips and being part of groups within the community.

Billy wants to live as independently as possible.

Billy has Prada Willi Syndrome, a condition which affects his appetite and as such requires a lot of support around food to ensure he is maintaining the correct food and fluid intake to stay healthy and well.

This condition can take over a person's lifeand Billy is keen that it does not.

Billy likes structure and routine, and this will support him to thrive in his own environment and make the most out of life.

Billy requires his Personal Assistants to be vigilant, dedicated, have a good eye for attention to details, someone who is easy to be around, confident, works well in a team and has a strong commitment to following strategies in place.

Billy would prefer a non-smoker, who has similar interests to Billy and enjoys going for walks.

Our interview process is kept relaxed to really give us the opportunity to get to know you. By doing this it enables us to match you to people you will genuinely enjoy supporting.

Typical shifts will involve a mix of long days and sleepovers.

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support.

No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is thatyou will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

ENABLE Scotland creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

The Best in _You_ Brings Out the Best in _Me_

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities.
