Food Production Operative - Hortonwood


Position Overview:
We are currently seeking skilled Food Production Operatives to join our team at our Hortonwood facility.

As a Food Production Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food production processes.

This position involves working on a rotating weekly schedule, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Previous machine operating experience is essential for this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Operate and monitor production machinery, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
  • Set up machines before production runs and perform regular maintenance checks to prevent downtime.
  • Load raw materials into machines and monitor the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet established specifications.
  • Assist in the packaging and labeling of products, adhering to company guidelines.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols at all times.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Keep production areas clean and organized, including cleaning machinery and workspaces.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge of the production process.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience operating production machinery is essential.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating weekly schedule, including early morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine monitoring.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations is advantageous.
