Traffic Operator - Preston - £26,000 - £28,000

Clemence Rogers are currently working in partnership with our client in recruitment of an experienced Traffic Operator to join an established transport company based in Preston.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Liaising with drivers within a busy environment
Ensure routes run on time
Report any issues to the Planner /Management
Dealing with drivers' hours
Respond promptly to Customers enquiries
Prioritise workload and assist routing and planning of vehicles to ensure all deliveries/collections meet customers' expectations.

The Person:

Transport Planning experience and geographical knowledge of the north west desirable but not essential
Knowledge of TMS systems
This role is ideally suited to an individual who has previous experience within a traffic department
Essentially like any trafficrole the overall objective is to ensure that the customer receives a firstclass service in a costeffective way.
Experience in UK, Irish & European work would be advantageous
Disciplined and methodical approach and able to keep up with changing priorities.
Demonstrate a keen eye for detail whilst working under pressure.
A demonstrable understanding of transportrelated issues including drivers' hour's regulations is essential.
Sound knowledge of the commercial aspects of operating a fleet.
Computer literate
