Assistant Accountant |Elland |£25,000 - £27,000 + benefits incl. study support package

The opportunity
Progressive and professional group based in Elland have a newly created opportunity for a confident Assistant Accountant.

It's an award winning UK business (part of a large international group) with an impressive client base. An organisation which is 'recession proof' and able to offer a high degree of job security.

Your initial role is supporting the management accountant with all aspects of month end close for the business.

There is significant amount of scope to add value and make change.

You'll be involved in projects alongside the management accountant focusing on improving controls, enhancing and automating processes etca hugely valuable foundation for your future careerdevelopment.

You'll be working for a hugely approachable, encouraging and supportive manager (CIMA qualified) who will provide lots of valuable guidance and mentoring.

You'll enjoy a great balance of autonomy and support.

The role naturally develops into a fully fledged management accounting role and you'll have chance to gain relevant practical experience alongside your ongoing studies.

Ideally in - 3 years time you will be a qualified management accountant within thegroup.

They are investing readily in new systems, growth and people and have recently implemented a high profile ERP system in finance.

You'll ideally be working toward completion of AAT or be early stages CIMA / ACCA.

You'll have gained practical accounting experience and have good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, journals, month end close.

The role would suit someone with an appetite to progress and develop within a growing business.
You will need to have confident communication skills and a proactive approach to making processes and procedures more effective / efficient.
You also need to have good IT skills and previous experience of using Excel.
