Bid Writer - Cookstown - Engineering
Based in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, our highly esteemed client specialising in Water and Energy services has a full time, permanent opportunity for an experienced Bid Writer to join the team
Main Responsibilities:
As Bid Writer you will be responsible for creating and submitting proposals and tenders to secure new business opportunities for the company.
- Ensure all PQQ / tender documents are prepared and submitted to a high standard, covering all the stated requirements and delivered ontime.
- Analyse client requirements. You must read and understand the client's requirements and specifications, and tailor proposals accordingly.
- Write clear, concise, and compelling PQQs / tenders that meet the client's needs and requirements. Ensure that proposals are errorfree, consistent, and comply with company standards and formatting.
- Coordinate with internal & external stakeholders: The bid writer must work closely with various departments and external partner companies, to gather information, coordinate responses, and ensure proposal accuracy.
- Manage the PQQ / tender process: The bid writer must manage the entire process, from identifying opportunities to final submission, while ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, organisation charts, data sheets of relevant project experience and project specific CVs for client presentations and tender submissions.
- Maintain an update the reference library of standard and nonstandard answers for PQQs / Tenders.
- Maintain an update standard company documents required for tender submissions e.g. company policies, insurances and financial information.
- Continuous improvement: Continuously review and improve the PQQ / tender process, templates, and messaging to enhance the quality and success rate of proposals.
- Research and identify new business opportunities via a range of public sector procurement portals.
- Assist with the coordination of company media and advertising material with company branding.
- Any other duties as required by management.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience of compiling and completing public sector PQQs / tenders and a familiarity with public sector procurement processes.
- Experience of using a range of tender portals.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Experience of working in a busy, deadline driven working environment.
- Experience of creating professional documentation to a very high standard with particular focus on accuracy and eye for detail.
- Ability to work well using initiative, being highly organised and multitasking as required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, developing good working relationships with all company departments.
- IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
