Job description:

The role has primary responsibility for fulfilling the Financial Scrutiny element of the organisation.

You will be responsible for the Business and Financial Management of 2 budgets ensuring that colleagues have a clear understanding of monies available and spend policies.


You will need to be confident in the role as Electronic Payment Card (EPC) Manager ensuring systems and processes are up to date.

Able to communicate clearly with all card holders ensuring MOD regulations on spend of public money are adhered to and regular audits are carried out.


The role involves line management responsibility for the AO and AA Business Support team members requiring the efficient identification of staff training and development needs.


You will be required to maintain and develop a range of contacts outside of your own team namely within the Commercial, Finance, Corporate Governance areas.

Confident to efficiently liaise with these contacts to utilise their skills and knowledge for the benefit of the organisation.

Person specification:


The post will suit those with a reasonable level of financial/commercial knowledge and background experience with opportunities to enhance these via personal development and learning opportunities.

Good communication skills both written and oral are essential.


You will need to be capable of efficiently analysing and scrutinising financial spend of Public and Non-Public money, challenging colleagues of all levels and disciplines when appropriate.


You will need to demonstrate a capability of being disciplined and organised to manage a diverse workload whilst always being available to support colleagues in a positive manner.


To take the lead in the delivery of future work, utilising commercial experience to develop future tenders and Contracts on behalf of the organisation.

Involves analysing and researching materials and working with the team in a constructive organised manner.
