About the role This role will expect regular visits to the sites in the North West of Scotland at An Suidhe, Crarae, Craig Murrail - Argyle and Bute. You can live in this area and travel to Eurocentral just off the M8 near Glasgow (Head office) as and when needed

What you'll be doing
As a Social Impact Coordinator, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Supporting our
    An Suidhe, Crarae, Craig Murrail projects to deliver social impact outcomes by developing local networks of school groups, community groups, third sector organisations, employability partners and charities.
  • Coordinating attendance at events with schools, colleges and universities in areas of STEM and construction careers including developing relationships with local schools and education organisations including Developing the Young Workforce and Skills Development Scotland.
  • Promoting apprenticeship opportunities both with Balfour Beatty and through our supply chain.
  • Coordinating charitable donations and communitybased volunteering opportunities.
  • Support Considerate Constructor Scheme audits on site by attending training provided by CCS and supporting with evidence gathering for monitor visits.
  • Reporting and monitoring social impact outcomes which includes evidencing local labour, local spend, arranging work experience, recruitment from priority groups including participants from preemployability support programmes, positive destination programmes and coordinating communitybased activities.
  • Supporting project teams to create and distribute project newsletters and updates to local community. Promoting the successes of our project teams' social impact through creating case studies, good news articles and promoting successes internal and external.

Who we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for making a difference and supporting Argyll and Bute's vision to create local sustainable job opportunities and encourage people to move to region.
  • An awareness of the 'Social Impact' landscape in Scotland including Community Benefits legislation, Community Wealth Building, the National Performance Framework, and the ethos of socially sustainable development.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills and the ability to 'get things done' on projects that often have multiple interested stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a community facing role is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills across the Microsoft suite and comfortable learning about and working with new and evolving digital tools for reporting of outcomes.
  • Clean UK Driving License
