Gateshead Health Foundation Trust is dedicated to delivering outstanding IT solutions and services to our end-users. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivatedDesktop Support Assistantto join our exceptional team.

As a Desktop Support Assistant, you will be the go-to person for ensuring our end-users have the correct technology to perform their roles, enabling them to work seamlessly.

Monitor desktop systems' performance and proactively address potential issues to prevent disruptions in productivity.

Adhere to IT security policies and protocols to protect sensitive information and maintain the integrity of the organisation's data.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems, escalating complex issues to higher-level support teams when required.


Assess the suitability of PC locations from a Health & Safety perspective in relation to adequate lighting, desk space, seating arrangement.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Educated to A Level, preferably with ICT Qualification or ICT A 'Level equivalent.
  • Knowledge of hardware components and the ability to diagnose and resolve hardwarerelated issues.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the capacity to think on your feet and adapt to dynamic situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical users effectively.
  • A customercentric approach with a passion for delivering exceptional support and ensuring enduser satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
  • NHS experience is desirable
