We are currently looking for a
Reconciliations and Collections Team Leader to join our team at
Jewson Building Distributions in Coventry.

This role is working with
Jewson, part of STARK Building Materials UK. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe.

We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftsmen who build, renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow.

The
Reconciliations and Collections Team Leader will ensure rebate and ECS debtors are reconciled, collected, and allocated in an organised and efficient manner, ensuring queries with suppliers are followed up and debt collected promptly.

This will be achieved with the support of the team of Rebate and ECS Analysts by taking on a range of responsibilities, for example

  • Creating, maintaining, and updating annual "Rebate Freeze with Reconciliations & Collections" trackers
  • Managing the process of completing the reconciliations of prior years' rebate debts for up to 300 suppliers
  • Review and obtain signoff of supplier rebate over/under forecasts according to the DLA
  • Completing the month end process in collaboration with the Rebate Accounting team
  • Take ownership for the reconciliation process, including the format and structure of all schedules and documentation, recommending process improvements where appropriate
  • Providing support and assistance to the team in maintaining the Receipts trackers, completing reconciliations, and chasing debt

This is a hybrid role, working a minimum 2 days in our office in Coventry (Tuesdays and Thursdays), with the rest of the working week located in the office or remotely.

Requirements for the role

  • Understanding of Financial Accounting Principles and commercial implementation thereof minimum part qualified ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW preferred, or QBE.
  • Experienced and motivated team manager, with a desire to get the best from their team through support, coaching and challenge
  • Team player, with excellent relationship management and networking skills.
  • Accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
  • Analytical experience and a proven track record of using analytical tools and methodologies to solve problems.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with high personal standards of task resolution
  • Selfmotivated and ability to work on own initiative towards business improvement.
  • Ability to communicate comfortably with all levels of staff and management and with external stakeholders.
  • IT / PC literate with good Excel skills is essential. Experience of Phocas and Kerridge is an advantage
