The Women's Health Maternity Admin team in Basingstoke are looking for a Patient Services Administrator to join them for 22.5 hours per week on a permanent basis.


This role involves being the first point of contact for patients, visitors and colleagues and therefore setting a welcoming and professional tone key.


Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) provides hospital services to around 570,000 people living in Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire, and specialist services to patients from all over the country.

We deliver a full range of district hospital services in a variety of locations.


Women's Health provides specialist services across all of our hospital sites including breast surgery, general gynaecology, gynaecological cancer, colposcopy, and uro-gynaecology, women's health physiotherapy, fertility and early pregnancy assessment.

Our teams are experienced in delivering specialist care throughout all stages of the care pathway.

The breast service is available at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and at Royal Hampshire County Hospital. Clinics provide a range of services including one-stop clinics for suspected cancer, breast surgery and family history clinics. Clinics are supported by radiology and radiography and specialist breast teams.


Gynaecology services are available at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Royal Hampshire County Hospital, with outpatients clinics also available at Andover War Memorial Hospital.

In 2019, we expanded our outpatient services at both hospitals to offer an enhanced ambulatory gynaecology service for menstrual disorders in new facilities:
The DOVE Suite in Basingstoke and the ATL treatment room in Winchester.


To provide a quality booking service, managing appointments, attendance and admissions for their speciality/modality, managing capacity and taking proactive action where needed to ensure the Trust provides a positive patient experience and meets its contractual requirements.


Booking patient appointments in compliance with the Trust Access Policy, managing patient records as required to ensure the smooth operation of clinics/appointment.


The role holder will flex with the needs of the service providing a balance of reception, general administration and other duties commensurate with the banding of the post in order that our patients have a high quality experience as well as acting as an expert booking clerk.


To promote best practice, ensuring that patient appointments are delivered to the standard of service level as set by the Trust Access Policy, escalating issues or concerns as appropriate.
