Overview of role

  • Assisting advisers in writing good quality suitability reports; checking and correcting as required.
  • Role includes paraplanning responsibilities for multiple advisers and on occasion Partners including checking background information on which reports are based, advisers' protection, pension switch, mortgage, and equity release suitability reports, makingsuggestions and drafting work to improve reports, checking details in reports, and making corrections before passing for formal approval.
  • Ability to carry out cashflow analysis, cost comparisons such as customised products and use other software where necessary for advisers to ensure that clients receive accurate and informative recommendations
  • Ensuring standard documentation including suitability report templates etc are up to date
  • Be a reference point of contact for advisers seeking guidance on how to present cases.

Specific responsibilities

  • Updating documentation such as suitability report templates and standard documents in good time (e.g., when there are changes to tax rates/legislation); communicate to all staff


  • Central investment research

  • MPS providers, discretionary fund managers, platforms, and various other centrally held comparisons updates to panel; communicate to all staff
  • Supporting Partners as required including some project work
  • Input into internal compliance processes

Qualifications:


  • Regulated Diploma in Financial Services (Level 4) and preferably has made progress towards
  • GCSE Maths & English

Relevant experience, skills, and knowledge:

Experience

  • Several years in a regulated financial institution e.g. bank, wealth manager, IFA or similar
  • Reviewing business, supporting advisers, providing feedback to staff/advisers
  • Investment research
  • Understanding of the provision of financial advice to clients in a compliant manner

Knowledge of financial services products (life, pensions, investments, mortgage & protection etc.) is essential and knowledge of IFA back-office systems is desirable (training will be provided on our systems/record keeping procedures)
Good knowledge of FCA rules including fair treatment of vulnerable clients, good client outcomes, suitable advice etc.
