Description

The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing health & safety practices, procedures and training across the business whilst liaising with key stake holders in the business advising on all H&S matters.

My client are a national third party transport and warehousing business with multiple sites across England and Scotland.

The key responsibilities for the role of Health & Safety Manager in Warrington will be:

  • Creation and implementation of all relevant H&S policies, ensuring effective communication is used to ensure policies and best practice are implemented consistently across the business.
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness and improve safe working practice across both transport and warehousing.
  • To provide professional Safety management, guidance, and support to key stake holders within the business.
  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Proactively perform safety audits and inspect sites, vehicles, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Devise, develop and monitor effective Risk Assessment management strategies and make recommendations on their implementations.
  • Report directly into the MD of the company, with a great level of autonomy in the role.
  • Experience in a health & safety role in a logistics environment.
  • Experience in a transport and warehousing operation.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to the role.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A salary of £50,000 p/a.
  • A company car or an annual car allowance of £3,000.
  • 28 days holiday.
  • Autonomy in the role.
