£20,129 - £21,879 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Logistics team.


This role is key to the day to day delivery of a diverse range of logistics related services, including despatch, front desk duties, heavy gang deliveries, internal deliveries, postal services, gas delivery, handling dangerous goods and undertaking administrativeduties and data entry.

Whilst ensuring compliance with STFC SHE Codes, the post holder will undertake and respond to the daily and weekly activities, to ensure that they are completed efficiently and timely, including:

  • First point of contact for customers
  • Provision of the postal function
  • Service Logistics In box is responded to
  • Liaise with heavy gang
  • Internal deliveries to site maintained
  • Gas supply and servicing
  • Care and custody of stored goods
  • Shipping activities and tasks

Other role responsibilities may include:

Sorting, delivery & collection and franking of daily in/out-coming post froM/For Royal Mail

Handling of hazardous materials such as oils, acids and chemicals

Planning and arranging collection, deliveries of goods

Counterbalance fork lift operation

Site deliveries using vans, buggies or forklift trucks

Packaging and despatch of goods including loading and unloading of vehicles

About you.

Qualifications
Essential

  • 4 GCSE's or other equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Clean current UK Driving licence
Desirable

  • First aid qualification
  • An up to date counterbalance fork lift certificate

Along with

  • Relevant health & safety knowledge and awareness
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Prior experience working in a busy logistics or warehouse environment
  • Able to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with mínimal supervision
  • Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to use web based system with ease
  • Experience of maintaining and retrieving data records and recording information accurately
Dangerous goods handling and awareness of despatch and courier systems would be advantageous
