Your new role, what's involved?

  • Delivering the strategic and operational HR agenda for the business unit / discipline to support the overall business objectives
  • Engaging with stakeholders to develop a talent pipeline that satisfies short term demand and long term strategic needs
  • Collaborate with Recruitment & Mobility team to facilitate internal mobility effectively and efficiently
  • Coaching leaders to provide feedback, coaching and development opportunities to optimise employee performance and growth. Ensure performance is being robustly managed effectively and performance management systems and processes are being properly utilised
  • Complex employee relations, organisational change and restructuring activity oversee the team involved with the ability to lead where necessary (where team capacity or complexity requires it)
  • Utilise WSP Listens to drive an active listening culture where colleagues are motivated, engaged and aligned to WSP's purpose and guiding principles
  • Provide input to client group to enable them to effectively deliver internal communications and key messages to employees
  • Ownership of HR internal projects focused on improvement to our ways of working and service levels to the business
  • Support client groups to make data driven decisions that improve performance, retention and the employee experience
  • Maintaining a continuous improvement mindset; keep abreast of external best practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider HR function
  • Work as one HR Partnering team avoiding silos and duplication of effort
  • Ensure I&D is incorporated into all people processes and decision making

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Relationship management skills; proven experience in building rapport, gaining credibility as part of the leadership team, building trust, working in partnership with cross functional teams and to proactively deliver upon commitments and expectations
  • Commercial acumen; interested and experienced in business, commercial and operational issues, their interdependencies and the impact of these on the people agenda
  • Strategic planning; experienced or has the aptitude to be able to contribute to the business/strategic planning process; previous experience in the development and implementation of the associated people strategic plan would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; able to influence and engage with people, comfortable with presenting ideas and opinions at a senior level, able to constructively challenge, probe and offer an alternative perspective in discussions, provide feedback, coach and consult at a senior level, encouraging of open and effective two way communication
  • A proven track record in HR delivery, both operationally and strategically; competent in the core technical functions of recruitment, employee relations, management information, compensation and benefits, HR administration and project management. In addition, an understanding of training and development, preferably with some training delivery experience
  • Analytical; able to analyse, interpret and communicate business, financial and HR data to inform discussions and operational plans
  • Results driven; proactive, accountable, responsible for delivery, strong client orientation, leads by example with a positive proactive attitude, is resilient and able to demonstrate the ability to make a difference
