About the Role


We are looking to recruit a motivated, fun and energetic person to work 28 hours a week to support the learning in our Early Years classroom, at lunchtime and one after school session per week.


Experience of working with children in early years is essential.


This role would be for 5 mornings and two afternoons with one afternoon extending to support Nursery children at our after-school club.


You will be:

  • Dedicated, patient, inspirational teaching assistant with high standards.
  • Able to creatively adapt activities, following the child's lead to extend language and learning.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure children are always closely monitored and engaged through play and learning activities.
  • You will be expected to take the responsibility for managing the provision of play, care and learning when required in the temporary absence of the teacher.
  • Assess needs of children including emotional, developmental, and social, to ensure that children have access to appropriate activities to support their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Awareness of keeping children safe
  • Understanding of how children learn
  • Understanding of children's behaviour
  • The ability to manage behaviour effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with children
  • The ability to use ICT effectively to support children's learning.
  • Familiarity of delivering effective Individual Education Plans for pupils with SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
