Full Time - 35 hours per week plus 7.5 hours Compulsory Contractual Overtime per week

The Opportunity:


Maintenance Services currently employ a mix of 85+ trades, semi-skilled and trade apprentice staff within its department who are responsible for the service and repair of over 500 buildings within the University of Edinburgh estate.


We now require 2 x Semi-Skilled Operatives to join our Maintenance Compliance Team who predominantly carry out Statutory Planned Preventative Maintenance checks.

You will be joining a team that provides exceptional customer services to an expanding world class estate.

You will have significant experience of maintenance work within complex building services and estates. Strong communication skills and a willingness to proactively engage with Estates colleagues and customers.

A driving licence is essential as there will be a requirement to drive University vehicles.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Knowledge of various routine trade specific duties.
  • Experience of working within a maintenance department.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to proactively engage with Estates colleagues and customers.
  • A desire to drive a highquality service to customers across the estate.
  • Practical knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 197
  • A willingness to accept and drive change, and support colleagues as required.
  • Basic computer literacy.
