Senior Lecturer in Skin Lesion Management
SBU/Department: School of Life and Medical Sciences
FTE: 0.4FTE (working 15 hours per week)
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH8 £43,155 (pro rata) per annum with the potential to progress to £54,421 (pro rata) per annum on achieving designated skills and experience
Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire- We are looking for a qualified health professional (either a doctor or nurse) specialist in skin lesions, committed to excellence in teaching and enhancing patient care, to join our multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic and friendly staff.


Main duties & responsibilities

  • You will be required to contribute to the design and delivery of postgraduate modules, short courses and dermatology programmes relating to skin lesion management. You will contribute to a wide range of postgraduate teaching and learning activities for health professionals studying dermatology, using a blended learning approach. Although the post is a teachingfocused position, maintenance of scholarly and/or research activity is strongly encouraged and supported.
  • You will also review students' work and act as a project supervisor, whilst providing constructive feedback and evaluation.
    Skills and experience required
  • You will be required to hold proven postqualifying experience in skin cancer, with evidence of current clinical practice which must include skin cancer, and experience in both collaborative working in multidisciplinary settings, particularly skin cancer multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will need evidence of uptodate clinical knowledge in the management of skin lesions, skin cancer and in dermatology along with an understanding of UK national guidance. You will possess the ability to create and develop synergies and networks relevant to the development of the post with the enthusiasm to pass your passions on to students and peers. You will need experience in teaching and/or running courses and will possess the ability to assess educational needs and set learning outcomes, undertake onetoone mentoring, small and large group teaching and give constructive feedback.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in the English language, and have good general IT, organisational and administrative skills. You will have a flexible attitude towards work with the ability to organize your own workload and manage time with competing demands, as well as being able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be committed to selfdevelopment with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
    Qualifications required
  • In order to be considered for this position, you must be a qualified health professional (either a doctor or nurse) who currently holds registration with a relevant governing body in the UK. You must also hold a minimum level of Postgraduate qualification or an equivalent level qualification in a relevant clinical discipline.
