Description

The Acute Medicine department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Consultant colleague to join our team in Acute Medicine at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

We are supported by a large multidisciplinary team of junior trainees, clinical fellows, ACPs and a dedicated physiotherapy, occupational therapy and NMP pharmacy team for our unit.

We have excellent record of developing and retaining senior nursing colleagues for our unit.

This truly is an exciting time to join Manchester Royal Infirmary and we are an EIPC enabled hospital with a huge emphasis on post graduate education, with plans in place to become one of the most digitally enhanced hospitals in the UK.

We place an emphasis on innovation in our service and this is evidenced by the recent opening of our multi-specialty SDEC service.

We are constantly developing the Acute Medical Unit and expanding consultant support to ensure consultant led care is available 7 days a week.

Manchester Royal Infirmary has successfully achieved and demonstrated an appetite for service development. We welcome imaginative and innovative ways of addressing the demands in acute medical care. The post will include weekend daytime sessions 1:8.

You'll thrive in our open, inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone matters, and is respected for who they are. We will help you to develop and support you to deliver your very best work.

The post is based at Manchester Royal Infirmary and provides senior medical support to our 48 Medical Assessment Units bed split across 2 wards and our Ambulatory Care Unit which hosts our innovative multi-specialty SDEC service.

The post is offered at 10 PAs.

In the spirit of continuing professional development this post can support a special interest that fits in with directorate and Trust objectives.

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings.

Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not currently a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated.

If you are unvaccinated, there is helpful advice and information available by searching on the 'NHS England' website where you can also find out more about how to access the vaccination.

We're looking forward to hearing from you
