What is the purpose of this role in the delivery of our mission?


As a super talented, ambitious and pragmatic compliance professional and MLRO (UK), you will play a crucial role in effectively and proactively handling the company's FCC matters, developing our business relationships externally and internally across all verticals, as well as enhancing our FCC and wider compliance risk management frameworks.


What are the key responsibilities / activities of the role?

  • You will manage all MLRO (UK) activities for the company's UK entity (Authorised Payment Institution)
  • You will support all FCC related matters across the group, including attending as MLRO (UK) and/or the Compliance function in various stakeholders meetings/calls
  • You will review and approve client's CDD/EDD reports prepared by the Onboarding team and FCC Managers
  • You will provide expertise on various matters regarding company compliance and risk management across the company
  • You will review and advise on high risk transaction monitoring alerts (both Fiat and Cryptoassets related) that are generated by various systems/tools and/or escalated to FCC as such
  • You will review and advise on suspicious activity related alerts ultimately deciding on approvals and consider SARs as required
  • You will regularly monitor inhouse and 3rd party provided FCC systems/tools and opensource media to identify and assess risks associated with clients and their transactions
  • You will effectively utilise and develop knowledge of FCC related red flags, typologies, industry trends and best practices, and share such a knowledge with the wider Compliance team
  • You will advise the Compliance team and wider business with strategic decision making and relevant compliance considerations including drafting and updating internal policies, procedures and guidelines.

What is the scope of accountability for the role?

  • Review complex clients' profiles, high risk transactions' alerts and make recommendations/decisions

What are the essential skills, qualifications and experience required for the role?

  • You have at least 7 years of work experience in FCC / Compliance function as a senior manager, Deputy MLRO or MLRO
  • You have professional work experience in Financial Services, Payments/Emoney and Cryptoasset sectors e.g. Fintechs, Digital Banking, Crypto Exchange/Custodian
  • You are qualified with the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or have relevant legal qualification
  • You have experience working with FCC related technologies and systems, such as World Check, TruNarrative, Chainalysis, Elliptic, Featurespace etc
  • You have a clear understanding of how data and analytics can be used to prevent, detect, and manage financial crimes in an innovative Fintech company
  • You have an excellent working knowledge of UK and EEA (and other main global) antifinancial crime regulations, rules, industry guidelines and trends within the Payments/Emoney, Banking and/or Crypto sectors
  • You have an excellent understanding of the financial crime risks and control framework as well as the best practices for financial crime risk management
  • You have strong written and verbal communications skills, including the talent to deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to the regulatory authorities, MLRO and/or senior leadership
  • You are detailoriented and balanced, with the ability to see a broader perspective and continually challenge
  • You are a wellorganised, selfstarter, able to prioritise quickly within an agile learning environment
  • You can meet critical deadlines in calm and efficient ways, even within tight timeframes
  • You thrive on collaboration and enjoy continuous development

Salary:
£85,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
