  • Derby SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) are seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to join us to deliver our impartial, confidential information, advice and guidance service for parents/carers of children/young people who have Special Educational Needs and /or a disability (SEND) and Young People with SEND. This a temporary post until 31st March 202
  • You will often be the first point of contact for the team and have the key responsibility for delivering a telephone helpline service so will need to be an empathetic person with excellent communication skills who is committed to working with and empowering parents/carers, children and young people.
  • You will be joining Derby SENDIASS following a time of national change in the way children and young people (aged 025) with SEND are supported in education settings and in the community and will, therefore, be expected to assist in developing the service to meet its information, support and advice expectations. This will include having a key responsibility for data management, delivering outreach activities to promote the service and developing social media and web sites to allow the public to 'selfservice' their own information needs.
  • You must be;
  • Customer focused, friendly and approachable and have experience of face to face communication with the public
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative and deal with challenging situations
  • Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining excellent data accuracy, and communication to ensure excellent customer service standards
  • Flexible in your approach to work
  • Experience of working with other professionals
  • Have a good knowledge of IT systems inc. data bases, social media and web sites.
