We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and Personal Care and Learning Support Assistant.

Duties:


  • To assist student with all aspects of personal care within an educational setting this will include toileting, hygiene and catherization
  • To support student with physical needs, mobility and health and safety as appropriate training will be provided where appropriate.
  • To work with medical professionals to deliver all aspects of individual care plans
  • To work with Physical Disabilities Team Specialist Teacher Advisor Service in delivering all aspects of Educational Health Care Plans
  • To work collaboratively with the Learning Support team
  • To perform assigned duties in an accurate and timely manner, and demonstrate flexibility in meeting the needs of students
  • To be aware of and be sensitive to each student's need and approach every interaction with compassion
  • To liaise with families as and when needed to ensure that the most up to date information is available at all times
  • To assist student to take a full part in learning activities on equal terms with other students in lessons.
  • To regularly update individual learning plan in line with EHCP's and SEN needs and contribute to, and attend annual reviews as Primary Care LSA.

Skills/Experience:


  • An ability to interact professionally with young people, colleagues, employers and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • An ability to use tact and discretion, and to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstratable commitment to inclusion of learners with SEND
  • Demonstrable commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners

Qualifications:


  • L2 Qualification in in Health and Social care
  • Level 2 qualifications in Literacy & Numeracy

  • Ability to work on own initiative, and identify tasks to be undertaken within the remit of the post
