Purpose
We currently have a great opportunity available to join our Investment Team as an Intern in our London office.

This is an exciting role that carries a high degree of responsibility and independence as you will provide technical support to the Chief Investment Officer and wider Investment team and facilitate delivery on a wide variety of investment initiatives.

You will have the opportunity to work in the investment strategy team reporting to senior members of this team.

You will gain experience across the entire credit spectrum, looking at the existing mandates of corporate bonds, emerging market debt, municipal bonds on the liquid side, and infrastructure debt, commercial real estate debt and private placements on the illiquid side.

There will also be the opportunity to work on new credit asset classes.

You will also be involved supporting the implementation of our broader strategy and objectives including implementation of environmental, social, and corporate governance ('ESG') criteria as well as supporting our vision to become Net Zero by 2050.

Role Accountabilities

Reports to Head of Investment Strategy, who is responsible for ensuring that our asset allocation is appropriate, investments are evaluated carefully and our portfolio is optimally invested.
Contribute to the research and evaluation of new asset classes, investment managers and funds, including manager selection, investment due diligence and operational/investment risk assessment.
Support senior members in framing and keeping up to date the mediumlong term investment strategy for both the matching and surplus portfolio.
Work alongside our dedicated Credit Analysts, assisting with pricing analysis of specific deals, including a focus on potential new investments in private assets, and the monitoring of the group's portfolio.
Contribute to the preparation of clear and concise material, including internal papers, investment proposals and management information, all whilst working closely with internal stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Actuarial and Risk.

Work with credit analysts to perform fundamental analysis on investment opportunities both private and public credit
