Description

As a Learner Support Assistant, you'll work with students to help break down barriers in their learning, supporting teaching and learning both in and out of the classroom to ensure all students have access to quality education
In this rewarding and varied role, you'll play a key role in monitoring students' development and achievement.

Working closely with the teachers & tutorial mentors to ensure students are positively engaged with their learning, fully stretched and able to achieve their goals while enjoying their time in college.


You may also be required to support students at break and lunchtimes, as well as welcome them into college each morning and assist with accessing transport at the end of the day.


Day-to-day you will be responsible for:

  • Helping with a wide range of teaching & learning activities for SEND students in ESOL and Employability
  • Closely working with learners to overcome barriers and get the most out of college
  • Potentially providing intimate support and personal care for highneeds students
  • Playing an integral part in safeguarding
  • Championing our commitment to putting students first
  • Promoting our values of fairness, respect & equality

After your first year with us, success would look like:

  • Completed and engaged with all mandatory training and enthusiastically got involved with staff development.
  • Used recognised standards for working with SEND needs.
  • Engaged and committed to our Gofurther review process and CPD programmes
  • Built Strong working relationships and supported colleagues where possible

Though ideally, you will:


  • Be able to support students with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Have knowledge of SEND support and Adult provisions
  • Be excited to bring fresh ideas to the table and help us constantly improve
