Description

Inspire is a major provider of quality health and social care services for older people and people with disabilities, in the London Borough of Bexley and neighbouring boroughs.

The Warehouse Assistant needs to assist with the warehouse functions to provide equipment to various customers, ensuring that all equipment issued meets the required standards in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.


Key Duties include:


  • Ensure that stocks are maintained to correct levels to satisfy the need for prompt delivery of
goods/services and the efficient use of storage space.

  • Receive, unload, check deliveries, stack & book in stock from the suppliers.
  • Remove and dispose of waste from deliveries appropriately and in line with business processes
  • Liaise with suppliers and assist with queries relating to stock orders.
  • Liaise with service users and assist with queries on procedures for requisitioning goods and
services to ensure that their requirements are dealt with efficiently and customer service

levels are maintained.

  • Assist with the regular stocktaking programme in accordance with the requirements of
financial regulations to effectively control stock.

  • Assist with minor maintenance and repairs of all types of equipment in stores.
  • Check all equipment on return to Stores.
  • Assemble, test, and refurbish equipment as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment within the warehouse.
  • Assist with the identification of write offs.
  • Order picking for drivers & checking stock meets the manufacturers standards to facilitate
the process of sending out stock to service users.

  • Assist with the delivery of equipment and where necessary assemble and install
the equipment at the required address.

  • Assist with the collection of the equipment, where necessary dismantle equipment and return to Stores.
  • Administration work to manifest incoming orders and assign equipment to van.

  • IT skills
  • Ability to communicate in a caring and sympathetic manner with distressed or bereaved clients
  • Ability to communicate with internal contacts to facilitate the efficient delivery of the service
  • Ability to communicate with external suppliers to ensure stock replacement
  • Experience in stock taking and purchasing routines
  • Ability to learn and adapt to all situations even under pressure
  • Good time management
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team to meet the requirements of the service
  • Continuously develop more efficient methods of working as required

Competencies_**:

ICT Skills - Competent use of computerised systems/keyboard skills preferably Microsoft Windows

Good level of numeracy and accuracy

From £20,319.00 per year
