Job summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Health Protection Practitioner to join the London Health Protection Team.
This is a senior role that requires significant experience and expertise in health protection.
The post holder is a key member of a multi-disciplinary team who will provide and at times lead, the day-to-day acute service response.
They will play a lead role in the provision of a health protection service in relation to infectious and non-infectious environmental hazard.
Please note this role is across4 Days - 30 hours per week
Location
Nobel House, London, SW1P 3JR - A mixture of on-site and remote working. Regular on-site presence will be required at the London office.

Person specification:
Essential Criteria:
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Health Protection Practitioner
Essential
- Registered General Nurse or Allied Health Professional in relevant clinical discipline with current professional registration e.g. NMC
- Substantial experience in a health protection role at a senior level with specialist knowledge and expertise in Health Protection
- Proven experience of managing others in a managerial or supervisory role including performance management and appraisal and development
- Incident and outbreak investigation and management
- An understanding of and ability to work under the current Health and Social Care Act (e.g. safe guarding vulnerable adults; data protection, information governance)
Desirable
- Recognised qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Professional Public Health qualification and registration e.g. Specialist Community Public Health (SCPHN) part of the NMC Register or UK PH Register for practitioners
- Understanding of public health law
- Experience of clinical and/ or professional supervision/mentorship
