MS35- Mechanical Design Engineer

Location:
Winchester


Salary:
£45,000 to £50,000 Per Annum

Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
You will be responsible for researching, developing and enabling engineering proposals within the company.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of engineering proposals at a technical level.
  • Designing systems from concept to FAT.
  • Creating BOM.
  • Providing datasheets for materials required.
  • FTP/FAT.
  • Purchasing material/obtaining vendor quotes.
  • Pricing negotiating deals with suppliers.
  • Creating and maintaining master system list on company MIS.
  • Proving technical support through life of contract.
  • Undertaking complex calculations.
  • Undertaking model making, prototyping and product testing.
  • Writing reports to summarise findings.
  • Identifying new systems to drive quality, efficiency and to save costs.
  • Communicating effectively with all parties involved in a project.
  • Planning effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Technical knowledge.
  • Understanding of pumps & electrical drives within standalone delivery systems.
  • Centrifugal and plunger pump knowledge.
  • Fluid flow in piping systems.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work in a team & under own direction.
  • An eye for detail and a methodical work process.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership and organisational skills.

Desirable:


  • Knowledge of fluid spraying systems, nozzles and droplet formation.
  • Knowledge of latest engineering standards, ISO, ASME etc.
  • Jet eductor mixing systems.
