These posts are part of the KSS Deanery / BSMS Leadership and Education Fellowship (LEF) Programme and is jointly funded by NHS England working across Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery (KSS), Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (based at Worthing and Southlands Hospitals).

These posts are available from August 2024 for 12 months.

They come with funding provided by HEKSS and BSMS and a full PGCert in Healthcare Leadership and Commissioning is a mandatory requirement of the role.

Develop in-depth knowledge of optimal Peri-operative management of complex patients

Demonstrate QI and research capability skills

Contribute towards a business case and service development for Peri-operative medicine at the Trust

Contribute to an impact driven research project related to key Trust priorities

Gained broad experience working in a multi-disciplinary Peri-operative team including development of leadership skills, person-centred goal-orientated decision-making, risk stratification including the clinical use of risk scores

Attended pre-operative high risk clinics and CPET, with attendance at relevant Courses

Undergone research and QI training encompassing from project inception to manuscript submission and presented at an international conference

Gained insight and contributed to a business case at the Trust.
