An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Administration team within the Genetics department at The International Centre for Life.

You will provide administrative support to the Secretarial team, Consultants, Medical Staff, and other clinical members of the team.


We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, conscientious and motivated individual who is able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as working within a large team.

The successful applicant must have excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication skills and be prepared to perform a variety of tasks.

Ensuring that a high standard of service is maintained, to meet the needs of the patient and those of the department.

  • To contribute to a consistently high standard of patient care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • To assist with ensuring that the North East and North Cumbria Genomic Medicine Centre's clerical and administrative activities are provided in a smooth and efficient manner, so that the contracted activity relating to the 100,000 Genome Project is successfully delivered.
  • To support, when required, the provision of an efficient administration and clerical service within the Northern Genetics Service.
  • To ensure patient documents are prepared, updated and delivered in a timely manner.
  • To make clinic appointments.
  • Deal with telephone enquires promptly.
