Description
We are looking to employ new members of our team based at Peterborough City Hospital.

You will work in the outpatient appointment booking office dealing with a large number of referrals received daily from a wide range of sources.

There is a requirement to receive and make phone calls from patients and other sources within and out of the Trust.


The role involves a range of administrative duties from registering patients on to the Patient Administration System, scanning referral letters and managing new referrals through the National ERS system for a variety of specialities.


You will be required to have a calm and professional manner, and be able to work under pressure and prioritise your workload.

  • Scanning and photocopying
  • Send fax correspondence as appropriate
  • Updating Patient records on PAS from Data cleansing reports
  • To assist with patient, secretary & ward requests for bookings / changes, ensuring they are dealt with on a daily basis working within specified and often tight deadlines.
  • Update any patient information as necessary including GP details, addresses, mobile numbers, checking the NHS National Summary Care Record (SCR) for demographic and residency details.
  • Update Trust IT systems e.g. E track, Somerset as required.
  • Contact patients by phone agreeing a mutually agreeable appointment date/time taking into account National, Local and Trust targets, recording all offered appointments on to the PAS system.
  • To process requests for Interpreters and/or Hospital transport services.
  • To participate as a member of the team liaising with the public and hospital staff in all areas on a daily basis, ensuring a positive patient experience.
Participate in any initiatives within the Department to improve working practices.
