Our client based in Margate is looking to recruit a Trainee Animal Technician on a temporary to permanent basis. Our client is passionate about their role in improving the quality of people's lives. This is a temporary to permanent position paying £10.00 per hour. This role will be working 35 hours per week which will include weekend work on a rota basis.

Due to the location of this role, ideally you will have access to your own transport.

As an Animal Technician, you will:

Contribute to and monitor closely the welfare of the animal colonies.
Water and feed the animal colonies.
Carry out routine husbandry and housekeeping i.e. clean the cages, the area and tools thoroughly following strict hygiene procedures.
Carry out weaning procedure.
Pack orders according to customers' request.
Participate in training sessions as and when necessary.
Contribute to continuous improvement.
Contribute to the maintenance of an efficient Quality Management System.
Ensure that all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to, liaising with the H&S officer where appropriate.
Have the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
Be able to communicate clearly with other members of the team.
Demonstrate good personal organisation.
Be able to follow detailed instructions.
Have the ability to multitask.
Demonstrate a flexible attitude and willingness to acquire and learn new skills, new knowledge and new ways of working.
Have strong interpersonal skills.
Be patient and courteous.
Have the ability to work under strict hygiene conditions.
