Assistant Buyer
Job description:
We are looking for a capable Assistant Buyer to assist our Supply Chain Manager with the day-to-day tasks associated with procurement, purchasing administration and shipment of goods.
As a small company the role needs someone who can handle a wide range of tasks, is a fast learner and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
This is a full time role for a fixed term to end of June 2023, however there may be the opportunity to extend.
Main duties:
- Placing and expediting Purchase Orders
- Pulling kits of material to send to subcontractors
- Archiving delivery paperwork
- Updating due dates for receipts
- Communicating delivery requirements to subcontractors
- Arranging shipments of goods
- Receipting goods
- Assisting with ECO implementation / point of embodiment
- Inventory control / stock counts / system transactions
- General office administration e.g. answering calls/taking deliveries
- Receipting goods
- 23 years experience in a similar role
- Excellent IT skills with detailed knowledge of Word and Excel
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Fast learner
- Strong communication skills
- Strong team player with "cando" attitude
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Permit to work in the UK
Advantageous knowledge/experience
- Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Navision or other ERP systems
What you can expect in Return
- This is a full time role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekFixed term to end of June 2023, may be an option to extend
- Salary of £20,000 to £22,000 per annum commensurate with experience
