About the role:


As a member of the Education Quality, Enhancement and Development (EQED) team you will provide professional management of the operation of the academic appeals process, using knowledge of the University's academic policy and regulatory framework and working across the (EQED) team to provide advice on this key processes.

You will manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders including students, staff in academic schools and the Students' Union and provide expert advice and guidance on the academic appeals process.


You will support EQED and Education Services in the delivery of strategic University projects and initiatives underpinning delivery of the objectives of the Research Inspired Education Strategy, with a particular focus on the development, implementation and review of academic policy and procedures which ensure that the University is able to offer a cutting-edge curriculum, meeting the needs of students and external accountabilities and internal responsibilities with respect to academic quality and standards.


You will also provide advice and guidance to Schools on the implementation of Regulations in relation to individual students, exercising sound judgement to ensure fair outcomes for all students.


About you:

You will have experience of working in a regulatory environment which will include experience in providing professional advice and guidance on regulations and procedures.

You will also have knowledge of the UK Higher Education system, with experience of undertaking complex and sensitive case work.


We are looking for a great communicator who is able to engage with students, academic staff and other stakeholders as well as produce high quality written work and analysis to inform policy development.
