Location:
Hybrid, head office, Hammersmith, London and remote working

Salary:
£47k to £59k dependent on experience

About the Role


A brand new and exciting role, that offers the opportunity to drive, develop and implement an organisation-wide EDIB strategy, support collective leadership in EDIB, including safeguarding, co-production and accountability, and ensure we challenge unequalpower and social injustice within the organisation, in the work that we do, and in our partnerships and communications.

You'll help to build a culture where equity and inclusion are engrained in everything we do.

You'll be responsible for building and developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of an EDIB strategy and actionplan.

You'll design and implement processes and frameworks that start with our values and bring about lasting behavioural and cultural change.

You'll lead all things EDIB with energy and a passion to influence others, working collaboratively to break downbarriers and promote EDIB across the social sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 24 direct reports.
  • Coordinate activities to maximise buyin and ownership of the EDIB strategy across all Turn2us activities.
  • Act as a critical friend and challenge people across the organisation to embed inclusion and coproduction within our work.
  • Ensure a positive culture of safeguarding is embedded across the organisation
  • Contribute to the leadership of the Programmes and Partnership directorate, and the organisational management team (OMT)
  • Work with external stakeholders to share our work on EDIB and learn openly
and transparently with others

  • Identify new learning, external trends and best practice that increase diversity in Turn2us and our activities
  • Promote and develop training programmes to enhance employee understanding on inclusions issues
  • Support Black, Asian and minoritized employees in the organisation by empowering them in their development

About You


You'll have a proven track record of working in an EDIB specialist position; the ability to engage with a diverse group of people and drive approaches that support diversity and promote inclusivity.

You'll need analytical skills and to be able to translatedata, research, and trends into strategy, as well as the experience of educating and exciting others about EDIB principles.


You'll have a real opportunity to make a difference, working with an extensive range of internal and external stakeholders to embed EDIB in their own areas.

We're looking for somebody to be a catalyst for change, with an understanding of the barriers individualsface, particularly those from protected characteristics, and an understanding of intersectionality and how that impacts experiences.


Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience of developing and implementing strategies, frameworks, delivery structures, tools and policies that have had a meaningful and visible impact on organisational success
  • Understanding and awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and best practice
  • Experience of providing training on equity and diversity and antidiscriminatory
practice

  • Experience in providing strategic advice and influencing key decisionmaking
  • Experience of influencing systemic change through others

Skills & Abilities

  • Passionate about EDIB and the role it plays in the development of an organisation
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage teams in achieving clear and challenging objectives
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly (written and verbal)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and offer strategic insight. Taking an evaluative approach to work, diagnosing what works, what does not, and what needs to change.
  • Project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects with different timelines
  • Ability to build strategic relationships and to negotiate and influence a wide range of stakeholders, establishing positive relationships that generate confidence and trust.
