Literacy Teaching Assistant

Lambeth

January Start


A large Special Needs School in Lambeth is recruiting several Teaching Assistants to work with students 1:1 on their reading and literacy.

All positions are full time, working hours are 8.20am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.

The school caters for 150 pupils aged 11-19 years old, with EHCPs for ASD and social and communication difficulties. As well as a varied curriculum, they also offer a range of therapies and extra-curricular activities.

The selected applicants will ideally have previous SEN experience, especially with ASD and communication needs.

You will be required to withdraw students from across the key stages to read on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis.

You will work to build their confidence andgrow their love of reading and literacy.

Additional responsibilities will include analysing and amending data to show progress and be present in the library to make sure books are in order and students are selecting the right books for their reading levels.
