Job summary:


As part of the MOD, Strategic Command (UKStratCom) manages all allocated joint capabilities from the three Single services, Air, Navy and Army, comprising of Defence Intelligence, Special Forces, Joint Force Development, Joint Medical Group, Information Systems and Support, Permanent Joint Headquarters, Permanent Overseas Operating Bases, Support to Operations, Defence Support, with permanent front-line bases spread across the UK and overseas.


The Command Force Development team ensures coherence throughout the Direct, Develop, Deliver, Generate and Operate functions across UKStratCom and into wider Defence.

We work to develop the commands input into the Defence Force Development system through engaging with the High-Level Budget areas.

We engage across the command to identify key issues across the command's responsibility and work with others to identify and recommend solutions.


The successful applicant will take on a challenging and exciting new role requiring strong leadership skills and is an opportunity to join a great team at the forefront of delivering major change in Defence.


This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (the permanent duty station is Northwood HQ) and working from home.

If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post, however you will be expected to spend at least three days per week at a Defence establishment (occasionally this will be more according to business need).

Job description:


Person specification:


  • Support the development of Full Spectrum Targeting and Effects (FSpecT&E) capability demand statements, analyse them against current capabilities and produce options to close any gaps.
  • Assist the management of FSpecT&E with a specific focus on IW programmes and projects using recognised project management techniques to deliver against project milestones and performance metrics.
  • Manage and cohere IW documentation originating from DTE and subordinate and associated programmes and projects, including sharepoint sites and physical information holdings.
  • Establish and manage IW linkages with Domains and the Multi Domain Integration Change Programme.
  • Collate, cohere and disseminate information, data and other inputs into the IW aspect of DTE from a diverse stakeholder community including routine reports and returns associated with programme governance to UKSTRATCOM.
  • Proactive and routine liaison with internal and external Partners, to ensure capability development exploits wider innovation and technical development opportunities.
  • Collaboration with Partners Across Government and international partners to maximise interoperability.
  • Undertake learning and development and upskilling as required.
Essential

  • Knowledge of Information Operation activity
  • Recent experience in delivery of evidenced based insights to senior decision makers
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Desirable

  • Experience of Information Operations
