Group Financial Reporting Accountant


As a Group Financial Reporting Accountant, your key responsibility will be to support the production of the consolidated Group financial statements and Annual Report, annual statutory financial statements (UK and overseas subsidiaries) and other key financialinformation as and when required.

This opportunity would suit a practice-trained, ACA or ACCA qualified, individual with a strong technical background. Experience of audit would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities:


  • Working as part of a small team responsible for the half yearly and year end statutory group reporting including preparation of the consolidation and group statutory accounts under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to a high standard andto tight deadlines.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in IFRS and financial reporting. Ability to assess the relevance and implications of any changes to accounting standards on the Group's financial information, including key judgement areas such as revenuerecognition, impairment review, intangible asset capitalisation and share options etc.
  • Provide support throughout the annual audit cycle.
  • Delivery of statutory accounts for the Group's UK subsidiaries, including preparation of draft accounts (FRS 101) through to signing.
  • Delivery of accounts for the Group's overseas subsidiaries, covering EMEA, North America and Asia, including preparation of draft accounts and providing support throughout the local financial audit process to signing. In addition, supporting with ongoingprojects to bring historical accounts and tax filings up to date in certain overseas jurisdictions.
  • Assisting the Head of External Reporting & Treasury, working closely with inhouse Legal, Taxation and Company Secretarial functions and external advisers, to implement a group structure rationalisation project.
  • Be responsible for delivering any external compliance reporting ensuring reporting, such as Employee Related Securities, Payment Practice reporting and various ONS surveys are prepared, reviewed and submitted before deadlines.
  • Provide support to the Group Head of Tax and Group Tax Manager across a number of taxrelated areas, including support in production of tax related disclosures at interim and year end reporting, reconciliation of UK VAT balances and assisting with annualUK corporation tax returns.
  • Working with the wider Finance department to look for opportunities to simplify or automate processes with a goal of being an efficient and lean finance team, without compromising on quality.
  • Undertaking adhoc financebased project work, when arising.
  • Development and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Supporting the wider Financial Reporting and Treasury teams in managing fluctuations in workload and prioritising to meet deadlines. Where appropriate take additional responsibility when cover needs to be maintained or during periods of tight deadlines.

Skills, Competencies and Experiences:


  • ACA/ACCA 12 years PQE
  • Used to delivering results consistently in a deadlinefocused environment
  • Wellorganised and efficient, with the ability to prioritise and balance multiple work streams.
  • Experience gained in or working with international organisations would be highly advantageous
  • Commitment to working within a team, with experience of working under pressure and delivering to deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently using initiative to follow through & resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact at various levels inside and outside the organisation.
  • An interest and focus to drive continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Flexible approach with a 'cando' attitude
