Expectations

You will:
- be a qualified teacher and hold a full, valid driving licence;
- have recent experience senior leadership experience;

  • Illustrate a commitment to the philosophy of Curriculum for Wales underpinned by a dynamic, creative and innovative presentation style;
- be prepared to work flexibly within the team to achieve our shared objectives;
- be an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised leader who will work confidently on your own initiative with headteachers, teachers and governors (where necessary);
- guide schools to deliver their statutory duties and play a key role in leading the strategy to improve the quality of provision and outcomes for pupils;
- be responsible for preparing and delivering high quality, inspiring training both centrally and in settings;
- quality assure the work of schools and colleagues;
- undertake regular visits to schools and settings to advise and consult on actions for improvement, to share effective practice and summarise your visits in report form;
- provide support and advice on strategies to evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in schools and across the local authority;
- identify effective teaching and learning practice which can be shared within and across networks;
- evaluate the impact of initiatives designed to support improved outcomes for learners in schools and the local authority;
- be well supported by a team of experienced advisers.
