Purpose of role
To support the SM manufacturing facility and associated managers, to help maintain manufacturing schedules and improve efficiencies.

To contribute towards the manufacturing strategy of "On time in full, at totally lowest cost" by monitoring and managing goods at Despatch, ensuring any late or damaged goods are communicated and managed effectively with mínimal impact to the production plans to meet client demands.

Ensuring goods received are inspected, preserved and electronically managed


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the daily Despatch requirements are being managed to meet on time production order dates through WorkCentre capacity reservations.
  • Ensure goods leaving the sheet metal factory meet business Quality standards
  • Follow the DOR process and report to production leaders/management as a matter of urgency when damages reported.
  • Loading of goods to meet standards ensuring all goods are correctly protected to prevent damages.
  • Keep AX dynamics up to date throughout by posting production orders and processing of stock journals.
  • Support and conduct training to ensure cover across areas of responsibility
  • Ensure all goods received are inspected, electronically booked in, issued to correct location and preserved to prevent damages.
  • Communicate with related areas to support with prioritizing of deliveries and managing any last minute and/or late deliveries.
  • Conduct stock counts of consumable items and update the system to suit.
  • Unloading of tube/frame and blade from suppliers, ensure material is inspected and in correct location.
  • Keep the yard and Despatch area clean and free ofgoods, ensuring H&S is considered at all times.
  • Progressing of items and deliveries on the back of raised DOR's
  • Ensure the compliance of all SM Stores, Despatch and Quality policies and standards. Such as safekeeping of company property, security and record keeping procedures.
  • Ensure all stock control and goods receiving procedures are carried out. Including stock takes and cyclic counts (where appropriate).
  • Ensure all goods and materials in the Stores and in the yard are inspected / free from damage and professionally packed and secured. The yard is to be maintained and in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Ensure quality service to our customers by meeting despatch requirements within the established time frames and by communicating to the Stores and Despatch Team Leader any issues that may impact the customers.
  • Ensure that all goods are wrapped (where appropriate), identified and adequately protected to prevent damage and/or loss of items during transport to the customer.
  • Ensure that all of the required visual quality checks are carried out to verify conformance to the relevant standard or specification.
  • To load and unload vehicles (including our own) ensuring all procedures with regards to transfer journals, booking in, etc are adhered to.
  • To deliver and collect goods and products as required.
  • Ensure regular maintenance checks are carried out on the VES delivery vehicle. Including keeping the vehicle clean.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.

Other

  • To ensure health and Safety is followed in areas of responsibility.
  • To provide support to other areas when required.
  • Assisting in keeping all manufacturing areas clear of finished goods.

£22,056.00-£23,210.00 per year
